HOW WOULD YOU USE THIS GRANT TO HELP YOUR COMMUNITY?

Noyo Food Forest (NFF) will make use of this grant to: - Develop the sustainability of our garden's design to increase labor efficiency and reduce water usage - Increase production of food crops for use in school meals, sales to the community and donations to the local food bank & Senior Center - Improve accessibility for differently-abled bodies - Develop existing curriculum for educational programs to reflect what we learn from this project that serves the following: NFF paid youth internships; Workability program that pays special needs students from the local high school minimum wage while they gain knowledge and direct experience in sustainable food cultivation; other young farmers, community gardeners, and the greater community of food growers. This grant will allow NFF the needed opportunity to develop the sustainability of The Learning Garden and its educational opportunities that assure youth and community have access to, and remain engaged in an evolving local food system.
